Torque arm??

Is a torque arm necessary for my application?
-Hotchkis boxed LCA's
-Hotchkis adjustable PHR
-BMR boxed subframes
(this is just my suspension work, i have tons of other mods too...)

i am looking for more stickum in the traction department (strictly drag racing), and was wondering if anyone has had any luck or had better traction because of a torque arm. or should i just get softer rear shocks?? any help is appreciated. gracias.

btw, i dont have any wheelhop what so ever with the current setup.

what 60's are you hitting?

What kind of tires do you currently have.

I hit 2.0s all day, without everything you listed, just lsd, and a 21mm rear sway on crappy street tires in my 3.4L.

And I hit 2.1s all day in my open diffed 3.8L all stock suspension, on crappish tires.

i can pull 2.0's and sometimes a wee better all day long...and i have kinda sticky-ish street tires, no DR's or anything, but those are prolly next on the list...

I would say it's not necessary. I've heard that the stockers can take up to 600 HP, and I don't think any of us have hit that mark yet. I kept the stock arm and replaced the rubber torque arm bushing with a poly one. But I'll warn you, it's a b*tch and a half to swap them out, especially without a lift. But I would say it's a worthwhile upgrade with the suspension mods you've already done.
