  • Need to replace shocks, good generics?

Im not keepin my car for a while, its gone come next spring. Question is, my shocks are beat, and i dont wanna sell it like that (i think the back right is actually broken). What are some cheapazz replacements i can get that arent TOTAL crap.

Im not lookin for like toys-r-us brand, but im definately not lookin at bilsteins.

anyone ever heard of gabriel? autozone sells em, i dont even know prices, but i also dont know anything about them.

    any suggestions?

Get the DeCarbon V8 take-offs, should be the same as what come on a stock V6. SLP may still have the sets left, but if not plenty of people on eBay are selling them cheap. Should be around $40-$60 for the set of 4.

All those mods and you're getting rid of the car? Planning on picking up another Fbody?

Just put the takeoffs on my car, and they are BETTER than stock. It seems like the V8 shocks are valved a little stiffer. $75 for all 4 from SLP including shipping, although I bought them 6 months ago...not sure if they have any more. I have also seen Monroe SensaTracs for $70 each for the front and $20 a piece for the rear.

I used Monroe Sense a Tracs on the rear. They have a larger valve than De Carbons. And I hate french products on a F-Body anyways

But since I replaced them, my car squeaks soooo badly in the back....any guesses guys?

Interesting you mention that. The DeCarbon's I took off my car said "Made in France" and were labeled DeCarbon. The "take off" shocks from SLP were labeled "Made in USA" and said Delphi on them. I wonder if the US version will last longer than the garbage overseas stockers that we all complain about.

I'd go with the KYB Gas-A-Just 7 ways... Summit has them for $27 for rears and $80 each for the front struts. I'm getting those and probably some springs and STB, and SFC. Should really make my ride a lot better.

SLP still has takeoffs for the front but nothing for the back.
