  • Linear vs Progressive

    As a result of my car getting keyed, the shop who is redoing my paint said they will give me some free lowering springs for coming to them and i dont know which i should get...

    I am debating between the Eibach Pro or Sport kit or going with a Linear rate spring from like Suspension Techniques (if they are still around and make a set for an 01') and wanted some advice.

    I am mainly doing it for the looks but i do want to go Road Racing sometime this year. To my understaning Linear rate are better for road racing but dont give as nice of a ride.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Sorry WRONG

      Here are 3831.240, 93-97 V6 spring rates, the front is linear, and the rear is progressive:

      1" drop
      Front = 351 lbs/in
      Rear first = 80 - 137 lbs/in

      And the spring rates for the 3870.240, 98+ V6 kit, both front and rear are progressive springs:

      1.4" drop
      Front = 377 - 600 lb/in
      Rear = 80 - 137 lb/in

        A-hem!

        In your own words Robert. But we are both right, because the rear is progessive, the front is not.

          the question was which is better for reg driving?

          is it that big of a performance diffrence between the two?
