You aint going nowhere believe me. You can barely reach your armss out to change the radio stations or use the temp controls. Personally I feel much safer with spirited driving when I drive or ride in one of my friends car with a cage. Just my 2 cents.

here said a roll cage saved his life. He was racing one of his friends one night when he lost control and put his drivers door into a light pole. You need to have a healthy respect for the possible dangers of a roll bar (or a cage). The belts that feel so solid when you strain against them can stretch a surprising amount in a crash. Even a harness.

Which is more likely? Someone slams into your front or rear or the car rolling? Your head hitting the ground or your head (or some other part of your body) hitting the bar?

And the foam padding that most people use is worthless. The only stuff that works is "SFI 45.1" padding, which is hard stuff like the inside of a helmet. See:

Bottom line. In some situations a roll bar can hurt rather than help. Ignoring that increases the chance it can happen.
