• Strange noise from the back of my camaro

When I drive on a road with a lot of bumps, or in the hole, I heard a big 'Bong' like something is knocking on the back of my car.

It is my exhaust knocking ?
Are my rear shocks dead?

What can I do to know where the anoying sound is comin' from?

How many miles do you have on the shocks? Check the rubber hangers for the muffler under the hatch. Mine elongated over time and let the muffler swing around. New ones are cheap and tighten the exhaust up a lot.

your shocks are probably shot, or depending on how big the "bonk" is, it might be your LCA. I kept getting a clank everytime I went over a bump, and it was in concordance to my suspension. Checked it out and my front LCA on the right side was tweaked/twisted. To check that, have someone stand outside next to your car while going over a bump, and see if they hear the noise coming from near the tire. If so, then check the LCA, it might be tweaked.

But most likely, its your shocks if they are stock still.

Actually it sounds like your exhaust: I had this happen a coupla times where the weld on my exhaust hanger broke and the tailpipes would move with ease back and forth and would also hit the bottom of my rear bumper. Try to move your tailpipes with your hand back and forth. If they don't stay in place this is your problem. A muffler shop can fix this for dirt cheap. Otherwise, I would consider some of the other suggestions given.

dead shocks, check your bump stops, mine are tost, so the axel tube hits pretty hard back there with a load in the back

My shocks are stock and have 39.000 miles.

My rubber hangers are stock too and in great shape...(but I think the muffler is moving a lot when I drive...check my video during the burn out (on the second burn :

It's your exhaust hanger, I saw that movement from the tailpipes. You have rubber hangers down there, but there should be a metal piece as well that keeps the tailpipes and muffler from moving freely.
