  • Wheel torque specs.

    Any one know what the lug nuts should be torqued to on a 1997 firebird
    thanks

          98-02 is only 99ftlbs

                Steel rims only require around 60-65 ft lbs, aluminum 100 ft lbs

                    I have the chrome stock wheels so it looks like 100 ft lbs.A few differant answers here so I hope I picked the right one

                      Stick with 100 ft-lbs and you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

                        To clarify:
                        All 3rd gen and up wheels are 100 ft-lbs
                        1st and 2nd gens with alloy wheels are 100 ft-lbs
                        1st and 2nd gens with steel wheels are 80 ft-lbs

                        Basically you can to use the stud to figure it out, 1/2" and 12mm studs are 100, 7/16" studs are 80.
