Where to get 17mm rear sway bar POLY bushings...

  • Where to get 17mm rear sway bar POLY bushings...

    I wanna put poly (preferably Energy) bushings on my 17mm stock rear sway bar. This with a 32mm 1LE front I think is the ideal combo for the time being. Where can I get em. Thanks.

    I don't think there's Energy Suspension Endlinks for a 17mm. There is for the 32mm...

    As for Poly Endlinks for 17mm Sway, I dont think so. I think you gotta go with Rubber. 19mm has poly though.

      Endlinks are endlinks - easy to get poly.

      I don't think you're going to find poly for a stock V6 size, stock V8 (19mm) would be the bottom end. Maybe pick one of those up, and hack something together to fill the last bit of gap.

      I'm happy with the stock bushings and upgraded endlinks in the rear.

          it convinced me of not getting poly endlinks and bushings. Have you ever considered just getting new factory endlinks for your rear?

            On stock springs, yes. It will feel fine during normal driving (which is why many think they're great), but, when you need handling most, (emergency swerve, slippery roads, etc.) it can bite you. It's not the fast setup for autocross either, it limits your ability to accelerate early exiting a corner.

                You can try PST also ... http://www.p-s-t.com/ ... you'll have to call to see if they have that size. I think they are $25. I tried to get 15s from them last year but they didn't have any that small.

                  V6bob, how about for a 3.8 with a V6 to V8 swap? Since the rear springs are the same from both the V6 and V8, would the 19mm rear swaybar be a safer bet than the 15mm rear swaybar currently on my car?

                    Swaybars are really tricky. It's a lot easier to recognize bad ones than to pick good ones. But, with a V8 motor _and V8 springs_ (the most important thing) in an fbody I can't imagine the V8 bars, front and rear, wouldn't be better than the V6 bars, since that's what GM would use.
