  • alignment, no? well, then what

    My car drifts hardcore to the left. I learned to live with it, but recently I had to get new brake pads so I had the guy at the shop check the alignment and he said it was fine and that all four tires are wearing the same.

    so, thats good, but it still bugs me. I do have 245 50 16's, so would that cause this to happen? And can I fix it?

    Go to a professional to have the alignment checked. Just because the wheels are wearing evenly doesn't mean that it is aligned correctly.

    Also, if possible, have your front calipers rebuilt. Sometimes they can "bind" on you causing a wheel to pull to one side.

      do a rotation, sometimes tires get a radial pull, itll normally solve the problem. We have to do it all the time on brand new cars.

        yeah, i just got a rotation and unfortunately it didnt help, but I'll look into the caliper idea. Thanks!

        Could you explain what you mean by "bind"?

          Over time, the calipers lose their internal lubrication and/or start to rust and don't allow the caliper piston(s) to move in & out freely. Thus making the piston to stay "engaged" on one wheel as the other wheel the piston moved back into it's seated position. Car will pull to the one side where the piston is still binding the brake pads and grabbing the rotor.
