Drum to disc conversion

I am finally ready to convert my rear drum brakes on my 1996 V6 camaro, over to a disc setup. What parts do I need, and how much is this going to cost? Also, is this something that I can do in my own garage, or do I need a shop to do it? Please help!!!

Howdy! Another Wisconsin member here.

I'm in the middle of working on a rear end swap right now. I'm just finishing up rebuilding and painting the rear calipers. Next I'm gonna sandblast the rear axle and paint it. I know no one really looks at it much, but I figure while its out of the car, I might as well.

Your best bet is to pick up an entire rear end from a Z28, SS, TransAm, ect ect.

Your best bet would be to search. This topic has been talked about TONS already and there is a ton of info floating around.

Don't know what your budget is, but when I upgrade to discs (Hopefully this year) I'm going to go with the Baer Brakes conversion. A little pricy, but you get the whole 9 yds as far as bigger rotors and better calipers, etc. goes.

Here's a how-to, just make sure you put the right caliper on the right side of the car, and the left on the left side of the car, I've heard this can be a troubling issue for some :D
