why not go with 245/50/16? It would be a little bit of an upgrade and looks better.

Probably because he's considering snow.

My car came stock with 235/55/16 goodyear eagles. My 245/50 Kumho 711's handle SO much better and they look way better. I'm in florida so snow is no factor, dry traction is what I care about mostly.

I run 245/50/16 on my stock rims. They are Goodyears. Is the snow something your thinking about? Why do you want to stay with the thinner tires?

it is not an option with the tires I am getting
BFG KDW do not have any of those sizes
snow isnt in the equation, I don't drive it in the winter

I bought the 225 45 16 since that was all that was available
I havent got a clear answer from anyone if it will fit or not (on the phone to several tire companies) so I guess if it doesnt fit I am out $60 for shipping to send them back
unless anyone can say for sure whether or not they will work ahead of time and I can cancel my order if need be...

well the guy from tirerack called me and said that tire is probably not a good choice and we redid the order for some bridgestone potenza 750s with a tire size of 245/50/16 which seems to be about perfect
btw tierack has a very helpful customer service!
the guy talked to me for about 20 minutes and cleared up any questions for me no problem
I will definitely be using them from now on

A P225/55 will be the closest to stock height and will fit "better" and will not throw off the speedo as much. See my tire guide sticky.

I will be running this size for snows.
