  • For those of you with Eibach Pro Kit springs

Ok, I am seriously considering ordering these... but I have a couple of questions.

    Did it make a difference?

    How much of a difference?

    How rough is the ride?

    Thanks

You could search and find out a ton about this probably.

But It makes it look a lot better, mine roughly dropped an inch on all 4 wheels.

Ride is a rougher, i dont think too much worse though. If you own a camaro in the first place, you shouldn't worry about the ride too much. It does not make it that much worse.

Handles a lot nicer than stock springs, overall it is definately worth it.

I got the prokit, but I went with the 93-97 on my 99 because it is a lower springrate. It dropped my car a full 2 inches all the way around. But my car was very 4x4ish before.

It doesn't ride rougher, but it is a lot more sensitive, if you are still on stock width 16s and stock shocks, you might not like it.

Get some GOOD shocks to go with it. Your gonna needs some stiffer shocks to help control those higher spring rate springs.

I can't vouch for the springs along, but with prokit springs, KYB adj. AGX shocks, and a 32mm Front stabalizer bar with new enlinks and poly bushings. The car can handle a hell of a lot more speed in corners.

Ok... basically, I have very limited funds... so I wasn't going to be able to do shocks/springs/the whole nine yards. I was just going to do the springs.

        Not a good idea?

Minimum would be to swap spring and shock together with a pair that compliment eachother. However it is expencive.

Others havn't and its been fine, It not going to ruin your car. But don't expect a great ride after just new springs.

You can get SLP take-off shocks from when the upgrade Z28's to SS's. They put new shocks and suspension parts on the SS's so they take off the stock Z's shocks and sell them. They usually have at most around 1000 miles on them probably. The Z28 shocks are stiffer rebound so they work well with the lowering springs.

BTW they only cost $50 (for all four of them).

A lot of people have done this, it also allows your old shock to not suck. Because with stock springs, you are riding at a certain height all the time, so your shock is used to that motion, when lowered you move that point in the shock after a bunch of miles, so it doesn't ride worth ****. That is why you should really get new shocks. At least spend an extra $50 and get the Z28 take-off shocks.

i wanna get the pro-kit too. If i get those with the z take off shocks, will my suspension still be alot stiffer/better handling thru corners and stuff?

yes, the Z28 shocks have a stiffer rebound than our stock v6 shocks from what I was told (makes sense, because the spring is stiffer in those cars). It will leave you with a lot better handling car. This is the setup I have and I have taken my car to the track a few times. Handles nicely, now I am adding swaybars, etc. You will enjoy it if you go this route, and when or if you feel like switching to better shocks, like Bilstein or KYB, you can get them later and install them, and you only lost $50.
