ok im guessing this isnt possible at all, but i want a tire that would do well in the rain, but also that i can leave nice black marks with. ive got the 16" goodyears on the chrome rims (245 M+S's) and im thinkin of going to something thats wider and in the rain does better. if i get the 3.42/LSD, some of my rain problems will go away, i assume. is there this perfect tire for me? alsot the guy at S&S tire says that 255/55/16 would rub on my car, and i cant go lower profile....any help?

Go with 255/50/16's instead of 255/55/16's. 255/50/16's will not rub - no way. I've got 255/50/16's and love they way they perform and look. See the other post nearby also about 17" wheels and tires - same type of subject.

I love my BFG GForce T/A KDWs. I have the Z28 245/50/R16. They handle like a dream and it takes a hell of a lot more to break them loose than it did on my old tires1996 Silver Camaro, Y87, M5, cammed..
N/A Best Time: 14.012 @ 98.59
195 rwhp / 233 ft-lbs b/f heads/cam
Check out my site http://silver3800.cz28.com/

well the day after i posted, i had a tire only hold 12 psi in it, and 2 others were worn bad, so i bit the bullet (i couldnt wait, school was starting on monday and that was my only chance) and got 4 falken ze502 245/50/zr16, im pretty happy with them, they are easy to break loose, but they handle A LOT better. i got them put on the car for 441$, which i didnt think was too bad for 4 z rated tires- did i get jipped?98 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited

MODS:
180* t-stat, K&N FIPK, mopar ECU,
mike leach long tube headers+3\" y-pipe, 3\" all the way out flowmaster 50 series, mopar magnum 2bbl m1 intake manifold, APS 52mm throttle body, powerslots, 2 JL 10w3\'s

That sounds about right. Those tires run from anywhere from $90 to $110 a tire. So you got a pretty good deal. I've also been looking at some falkens. So far im down to those, Kumho scsta supra 712s, nitto 450s, g-force t/as, and maybe some pilots. I figured that i really couldnt go wrong with any of those.Black 1996 3.8L Firebird A4
--------------------------
Custom CAI, Flowmaster Dual Exhaust, 160 Deg Thermo, BMR ShockTower Brace
JVC mp3 HU, two 12\" Infinity Kappa Perfects, Infinity 6.5\" components, JBL 600.1 & 80.4 amps
Pics

Those are awesome tires, I had some on an isuzu p/u and loved them. They are kind of pricey but worth every penny.97 Silver Bird
3.8 M5 Bone Stock Engine
15.528 @ 88.96 bone stock
www.fbodyenhancements.com/

The Kuhmo's will definitely be your best bang for the buck! I did a set of 245/50ZR16's for $550 at Discount Tire. They don't spin like Goodyears or really leave tire marks (which is a GOOD thing) because the dry traction is that good!
To figure out what tire size you need, all you gotta do is figure out what the radius of your new wheel/tire combo should be to match the old radius. Take 0.5 of your rim size, convert it to millimeters, and add it to the aspect ratio*tire width (e.g. 8" converted to mm + (0.60 * 215) for a 215/60R16 stock Goodyear).Edward D.
1997 Firebird A4 - Black Metallic
SLP CAI, Decoma 3\" Catback
BMR SFCs, 1LE sway bars
some other stuff

hey whoopassfbody....if your looking to get tires for your rims it depends on how wide your rims are....im guessing they are 18x8's, then the widest you can go is a 255/40/18....but if i were you i would go with 255/34/18, they look better, and they forsurely wont rub. :D99 Firebird Vert, Pewter Metalic
Fast Toys Ram Air
Jet Stage 2 Chip
17x8 Mille Miglia Emotion II Plus\'
wrapped in 245/35/17 Yokohama A520
Rhino Perf.
