Brake Dilema

my brakes are the most annoying thing ever

they squeel every stop no matter what.. i went to the store and bought the silicone stuff that "gaurenteed to stop brake squeel".. yeah well that worked well for about a night and now they squeel again...

there is plenty pad left on both side more than 50% id say.. car has 20000 miles on it

so heres my question..would having the rotors turned do anything to stop this squeel or am i going to just have to go buy new rotors and pads to get rid of this sound :mad:

pads could be galzed over


you can take the pads off rough them up with some sand paper and that might fix it

make sure the pads are sitting well if you lost one of the little clips tht helps hold the pad that could be a reason

also make sure nothing like one of those little metal things is touching the rotors make sure the thing the tells you when you need new pads is not bent down any too

is the stop squeel stuff pink? I have some thats pink that you can try if not.

no the stuff i used was blue and its the same crap that worked on Kris's car..there is nothing touching the rotors and all the little clips are in there..i dont think they are glazed over cause they werent when i took them off and put the silicone on

you could try gettng the rotors resurfaced at orileys and sanding down the pads on top to get them clean and rough them up some and see if that helps any before getting new rotors and pads.

make sure when you do your breaks that all of the surface of the pads and rotor are clean make sure they dont have any grease or anything.

Ceramic pads are good and they cut down on the dust. Performance Friction and Raybestos have good ceramic pads.

Do you still have the stockers on there?
