Same thing was happening to my car... I took it to Meineke's.. they tapped the computer, said that there was no problem and made me look like a fool.. However, the light hasn't come on since!

if you put to big of tires on your car and it cant stop the car properly it disables abs for some reason it happend to me when i changed tires for a while and try to stop. I ended up bout 30 yards farther than i hoped =\

Check all the connections...the front connections are in the spindles, you'll see where the wires hook up. The rear hooks up to the differential somewhere. I had the same problem, pulled the front connectors off, sprayed them with contact cleaner, and no more problems.

Check the ABS sensor wires cause that will cause it to do so. My light came on for a long time and the low trac light. I got new brake pads and everything has been good ever since. Just take it to a brake place and see what they can do!

Check your battery and alternator connectiosn, watch your amp guage.

Its completley unrealted, but everytime I ever had a battery, alternator or battery and alternator connectoin problem the abs inop light comes on. It hink its a failsafe toshut the abs system down to ensure the car has enough charge to keep the car running. I can think of at least 8 times wehre I had this problem all of them was unrelated to brakes, jsut the alternator, battery, or the connections between them, is definetly worth looking into.

Yep, the first light to appear when the alt is going is generally the ABS light. If it stays on you'll soon be driving on allbattery for a very short period.
