• Nittos are bad news

On wet/snow ground that is. I almost lost control of my car doing 40, passing a guy when the light was turning red. My tail went way left, way right, way left, then straightened out. If I didn't know how to correct it, I'm sure my car woulda had a nice pole indentation and I would of been mad-injured. Scary stuff. I definately need to mount my chromes on some other tires.

I tested them on snow..like a 3 foot long, thin, thin patch and the same thing happened. Still kinda shaken from the whole scenario :(

Epic, you have WAY more cajones than me. When my nitto's were new, they were extrememly good in the rain, but as they wore down, they got worse. I wouldn't be driving on them in chicago at the moment.

High Performance tires and snow tires are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum.... Get a seat of cheap steel rims and put some 205/65 studded snow tread tires on there... and put the nittos on in mid Spring.....that should help alot. Or buy a 4x4 and park it for the winter.

Glad to hear your ok man....

Gee, that's funny. I was going 40 on the first "loss of control" instance, and 15 the second time. (Both were speed limit)

Stop assuming that I was going fast. Are you my mother? Throw a set of Nitto's on your back and then get back to me.

EDIT: Sorry to be mean, but I hate when people blame the driver instead of the conditions. I baby the hell outta my car and losing that much control was some scary sheet.

It is not the conditions fault you were going too fast. I live in alaska and drive my car year round. I have studded tires in winter and still slide and fishtail. Power + Ice= no traction. There is such a thing as too fast for road conditions.

your driving the car that went out of control ;) If you would have hit someone and gotten a ticket the cop would put right on the ticket "Driving too fast for the conditions"

Yes but, I believe nitto claims to have "Extreme Performance" I don't even think a little ice/wet conditions at 40MPH as extreme, do you?
