Hmm, question, My left rack is slightly loose, and It hasn't effected my steering at all, but If I get down and grab it you can hear it rattle if I pull on it a little bit, where as the right side doesn't do it, any suggestions where the loose piece may be, before i get down and start tearing at things? ;P

Yeh, I have to admit, I had a fleeting vision of something else, but it passed. The 'rate my rack' type sites are pretty funny.
But anyway, on to the question, what are you tugging on? The wheel from outside the car? Getting under the car and pulling on the suspension?
Loose on one side, with the car on the ground, sounds like tie rod end (or rack end). Loose on one side, with car in the air, sounds like wheel bearings or ball joints. Wheel bearings probably wouldn't rattle though.
Best thing will be to get it up in the air and seem what is moving and what is not. well Ive pulled on the suspension with it in the air, with an ASE certfied tech (my auto tech teach from last year) and he said I needed to tighten the rack, However I've never messed with suspension and never had the time to ask how to do it, so I've been attempting to look for info on the net, I dunno, guess ill get under it and play around [img]smile.gif[/img]NEW RIDE: 2000 Trans Am LS1 5.7L<p>1993 Firebird 3.4 V6 --TRADE IN<br />02 T/A Taillights and centerfillerpanel (Transbird)hehe<br />K&N airfilter<br />Magnaflow Muffler

Just got out from under my car, after lots of tugging on the rack and pinion, I've found that the sound is coming more from the center of the suspension...but the noise does not sound when I pull on the passengerside rack, where as it does if I pull on the driver side...I didn't notice any loose bolts or anything..where could this be coming from? I have replaced a rack on an old Ford Granada a few years ago, but have not fooled with the one on the Camaro. The rack is toward the middle of the car. If it's loose inside, but only on one side, the sound could still be coming from the middle of the car...
I don't know if the unit is adjustable or not.
