  • Got some new Yokohama's

Well, I was driving around today in the rain with my custom-made slicks (burned down versions of the stock Goodyears ;) ) so I decided to stop at Discount Tire and pick-up some new rear tires. I really wanted the BFGoodrich g-Force KDW's, but they didn't have those in stock, and I wanted new tires then, so I bought their best Yokohama YK420's (only available at Discount Tire I think). I also got this thing they do called SIPE'EM. They put the tires on this machine and it makes hundreds of tiny slits along the rubber of the tire to improve traction supposedly. It only cost $10 extra to do that so I figured what the hell. But, ya, hopefully these tires give me better wet traction then those crappy goodyears that hydroplaned so much when it was wet. I still got the Godoyear's in the front but I've never had problems with my front end sliding, just the rear.

i love my yokohama's. they grip much better that anything else i've ever driven on. including michelin pilots.

i like my yokohamas a lot too. i picked up a set of avid v4's 225/50/r16 about a month and a half ago. they ride very well, quiet too. they don't squeal too much around sharp turns like the soock goodyears.

Everyone should post what Yokohama's they're talking about. Yokohama makes a ton of tires, from those that are about as good as the stock Goodyears to ultra high performance tires with great traction and short life.
