    the caliper bolts... what do i need? a big allen key?


    also, how do i take the rotor off? can i just whack it off with a mallet or something?

      yup big allen key, not sure of the size off the top of my head.. if the rotors dont come off by pulling on them just hit em with a rubber mallet or wrap a towel around em and hit em with a hammer

        do i have to take off just the calipers to get the rotor off? or do i have to take off the caliper bracket as well?

          &lt;---- just changed front brake pads 1-2 hrs ago.

          Stop by an auto parts store....They should have an allen key set for brakes.

          Insert the allen bit into the caliper in the back.

          You will end up loosening 2 bolts, 1 on top, 1 on bottom.

          Don't wack the rotor off with a hammer.... I have NEVER needed to do that.

          Take a big screw driver and pry off the caliper. It should come off easily.

          Once the caliper is off then remove old pads.

          Then take a big c clamp and open up the insides of the caliper's so you have enough room to put new pads on and slip them over the rotors.

            lol.. too late.. im already done replaceing front rotors and pads.... lol..james.. im not a noob. i just needed the size of the allen key for the calipers! lol. thanks anyways [img]tongue.gif[/img]
