Would worn shocks contribute to more wheel hop than normal? Driving in the rain today, I noticed that whenever the wheels spun there was wheel hop. It used to be that the tires would spin smoothly on wet roads, but not any more.

My car does wheel hop sometimes in the rain while burning out. I don't think shock contribute since they only dampen what goes through the springs to the body structure of the car. My suggestion is to start modding your rear suspension untill there is no wheel hop or you've done everything there is to be done to the rear end. Start with lca's, phr, torque arm, springs/shock/coil-overs in that order.

Torque arm bushing could be in need or replacement. Mine is cracked in half. I have a 96. It was like that for a while. I get wheel hop at 25mph if I make it downshift from 2nd to 1st. I only have 3.08s. Better control arms are something that will greatly help with wheel hop also.
