Ok i have a 2001 firebird, and it is smooth as glass when im driving but once i hit the brakes you can kinda feel a rough braking and the steering wheel vibrates a bit, and as the car brakes it feels like a very slight bucking back and forth, very slight? Whats up with my brakes??

your rotors are warped...either have them turned down (which didn't help for very long) or just get new rotors. I opted to get Powerslott Rotors and I'm very happy.
Oh btw, 99.9999% of the time it's just the front rotors and not the rear. I swapped out the 2 front and I still have the stock ones in the back...no more vibrating and the car stopps perfectly

You can just get them turned. I did that with mine when this A-hole in my auto shop class used an impact wrench to put my front wheels back on. I learned never to let anyone touch my car after that. The sad thing is he worked at a brake shop and I thought he knew what he was doing. I thought wrong  . Anyway, I just took them off myself, drove them to a shop and they did them for like $20 a rotor. No other charge because I took them off myself saving me about $40. Three years later they are vibration free. New rotors are nice and the better way to go but not always a must.

Good lord, $20 bucks a rotor? You can buy new ones for that. It's $6.00 around here each.94 Quasar Blue Z28
http://www.9t4z28.com
http://www.9t4z28.com/Dyno1.htm

Hey, I wouldn't just go get my rotors turned. It could also be your tires. My wheels weren't balanced (I also had 1 new one and 3 old ones) and my car would drive fine but when I would brake it would vibrate pretty badly. I'm just saying that it's not ALWAYS your rotors. I got new tires and obviously they were balanced, and the vibration went away for me. So, try one first and if it doesn't solve your problem, do the other. Just a suggestion. :D- JT3
1998 Red V6 Camaro Y87 Y3F - J.E.T. before you get anything turned you might want to pull the wheels off.. and re-torque em.. they are supposed to be torqued to 100ft/lbs. when you do this do it in a criss cross pattern and don't just tighten straight to 100 ft/lbs build it up to say 65.. then 80 then 100.. that may take care of your problem if your warpage is small.. either way if you can get your hands on a torque wrench it maybe an easy 20 minute FREE fix..-Brad

I just remembered it was $15. WOW $6 is very low. I called around and $15 was the cheapest anyone within 30 miles would do them. And where can you get new rotors for $40? The only ones I have seen are like $100.White 98 Camaro with t-tops leather and Y87. For more info on mods just ask.
1/4=14.9
2002 Xterra V6 A4
