• Will 315/35R17 Nitto 555Rs fit?

My brother bought some Enkei Winsome 17x9.5 wheels from a guy on CZ28.com. The front tires are Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712 275/40R17s, but the rears are 315/35R17 Nitto 555R DRs.

Now, my brother and I do not even street race, let alone drag race (no where to go :( ), but will these tires fit in his rear? These tires are street legal, the DOT logo is on it. My brother only drives in the spring and summertime, so these won't see any snow, and he rarely drives his car in the rain, so wet weather traction is not an issue. The previous owner had a Z28, and said they fit fine for him, but I don't know if he did work on not to his car.

I know people who run 17x11 wheels need to bang out the fenderwall and crap like that, but this is only a 9.5 inch wide rim. Will they work? He says if they do not work that he wants to go with 305s, but after seeing a different thread here I guess many tire manufacturers do not make that size with a low profile aspect ratio.

    BTW, he has a 97 V6 Camaro A4 vert.

A 17X11 wheel with a 43 offset will work just fine with a 315. so a 17X9.5 should fit also, it will just look a little funny cause the tire will be bent in. I would get 275s all the way around so you can rotate the tires, just so you know.

I have read to use 50mm off set in the rear w/17x11. Howerver, I have heard that this rubs sometimes. I noticed that you said a 43mm offset. Will 43mm fit with that 315 tire and with no rubbing or issuess?

okay....i have the corvette ZR-1 rims, the rear is 17x11 with 315/35/17 tires, nothing rubs unless your trying some dukes of hazard type sh*t.

they suck though, im putting them on my z28, when i get one.......too much tire for a v6.

Andrew N. What brand name of tires did you use?

What was the offsett for the rear wheels?

          Where did you get them?
          Thanks,
JAM
02 Firebird GT

Sumitomo HTRZ i think, from tirerack or discouttiredirect dot com.

dunno offset, but they do fit, AFS wheels will tell you how to put them on, its simple.

Thanks Andrew, that is the site I was thinking of getting my wheels from. Good to know they fit ok. Do they come with lug nuts, center caps and all that stuff too from AFS?

Thanks for the input. I"ll check out the tires on tire rack.

245/40/18 worked on my fronts and 275/40/18 worked great on my car with a 43mm offset. I have had them on for a week and i havent heard them scratch yet. THe rear sits up a bit higher now. Looks awesome. Hope this helps

Andrew do you have any pics you can post? I'd love to see these rims and tires on a car.

I have pics of my 275/40 17s on my car, the wheels are 43 offset. At work listed on the fitment guide is the 315s with a 17 inch wheel and a 43 offset.

Can you post some pics? And wouldn't a 43mm offset stick out past the fender wells with a 315 tire?
