i just got done putting my new suspension stuff on my car, i got an edelbrock torque arm, some poly bushings for the LCA's, and some poly bushings for the panhard rod, also i had to buy a one piece DS so i could put the torque arm on...i drove about a week w/just the panhard bushings and one piece DS while i was waiting for the torque arm to come in...i didnt really feel much difference from the 2 piece to one piece DS, whoever says a one piece DS is worth a lot, i dont believe it...my stock LCA's had been previously boxed in and i put some poly bushings, taking the bushings out and putting the poly's in were a ***** but i got it, the torque arm was really easy, pretty straight forward install, my wheel hop problems are gone now and it feels like it squirts out of the hole quicker now, im ready to go to the track and see if it helped!!!
i went to the track this weekend w/the new suspension and was real disappointed at first, my first four passes i couldnt even run a 15, i ran a 16.00, 16.01, 16.11, 16.20, my 60' times were 2.20-2.21, the exact same as before the suspension and last time out i ran a 15.87 w/o the susp...so i let the tires down from 35 to 31 lbs and let the car cool off really good, next pass i ran a 15.86 w/a 2.18 60' and finally saw some promise, i let the car cool down really good again and ran a 15.74 the next pass w/a 2.17 60', the last pass i didnt get to let the car cool all the way off so it was at operating temps the whole pass but i had a 2.14 60' and ran a 15.81, i think if i could have let the car cool off it would have run a high 15.6, im really happy w/this suspension now, in march when the air was a lot better i ran a best of 15.54 w/no susp so i think i can run some 15.3's-15.4's in the winter now at this track, the air was about 5800-6200 density altitude(typical summer night)...i highly suggest spending ur money on suspension, its really worth it, next weekend im gonna use by buddies DR's and really use the susp., ill update ya'll on that next weekend..
