I have heard of it, but never seen any evidence to prove it. But just take a look at what the "3rd point" is attacting too. Definately not worth it. I would stick with a 2-point brace.Matt
\'96 Camaro Z28 M6
\'96 Camaro M5

I think Kenny Brown also has a 3-pt STB for 4th gen V6's now. I've never personally seen a cracked windshield from mounting one of these, but I guess it's possible. I think you'll find most people run the 2-pt braces with no problems though.2001 Onyx Black Camaro M5-Totalled
2005 Ford F150 XLT 5.4L

\"To make peace, prepare for war.\"

My friend broke his windshield in his eciplse doing a reverse donut. He dropped the clutch and BAM, there goes the tranny AND the windshield. Didn't have anything to do with his STB though, only a 2-piece, just made me think of that. LOL off topic, but had to bring it up Matt
\'96 Camaro Z28 M6
\'96 Camaro M5

Hey Guys,
Just thought you'd like to know that I have had a bad experience with my 3-point Hotckiss (sp?) STB.
I once cracked one of my coils under a hard turn with it, but this is becuase I have my coils raised with CIU's for my MSD. Since then, I have swapped for a BMR 2 point STB, which seems to work just fine.
Peace.

I've seen lotsa posts of "I heard someone broke...". None of "I broke...". Clearly installation of a 3-point would require some very precise drilling that would not be easy.
The weak cowl clearly won't be of help bracing the towers. My question about a 3-point is: Could the towers brace the cowl?2000 Firebird convert, chameleon/tan, M5, Y87, TCS, BMR tower brace and panhard, KBDD sfcs, 245/50-16 GSCs

I have had the Hotchkis 2-point STB, but now I have the LG Motorsports 3-point brace and there is a noticible difference. I think that the only way that you will break your windshield with the 3-point is to go into a huge curve and a rediculous rate of speed and hit a big bump in the middle of the turn. Also, if you have subframe connectors or other suspension mods, I think that your chances of a broken windshield will diminish. I like the LG Motorsports one and would recommend it to anyone in the market.- Josh
If you have any questions or need installation pics/help, e-mail me: Viper98885@aol.com
\'93 Camaro Hardtop
\'01 Lincoln LS8 Sport
\'00 Yamaha YZF-R6
Full Throttle Performance

Drilling holes in the drip rail will cause there to be more stress in that area, possibly causing cracking of the drip rail, but I cannot forsee any problems with the windshield unless you do hit a huge bump or a big speedbump at a high speed(60+). I suggest you get subframe connectors along with the stb just for better handling as well as added safety against windshield breakage.2001 Arctic White Firebird
T-Tops, 3.42 rear gear stock
Mods:K&N Air Filter,Whisper Air Induction Lid, maf screen removed, raised air box, Kumho Ecsta 712 255-50-ZR16 tires, BMR stb
Mods not installed yet: FTRA, SLP Lsd/Differential cover
Near Future Mods: HPP3, GMMG 3\" Exhaust , 1LE Swaybars, Transgo Shift Kit, MSD-DIS-4 w/ Accel Coil-Packs, Turquoise Blue Neon Underbody Kit, BMR Adj.
