Replaced the rotor after a little alcohol induced mishap in which i cracked my rear wheel .

my question is that i have a awful sqeeaking noise now.. ihave been told i need a dust cover or something like that..it supposedly fits between the wheel and the rotor.

i am just posting to find out from some brake experts what the actual part is that i need and can i go to a junkyard and pull one off another camaro or does it have to be the same year as my car

Describe the noise. Constant, when you hit the breaks, intermittant?

Oh, dust cover wont do anything. That just keeps dust off the wheel. Whoever told you that is dead wrong....

Dont go replacing **** yet, diagnose it first.

Do you have a dust shield on it now? what had to be bend by your mechanic when he put it on?

The caliper bracket for sure is bent. Mine was and I replaced it.

Yea, but he said that his mechanic said he needed a new dust shield. Im just thinkin that he has one on there right now, it was bent, and its scrapin on the inside of the wheel or something.

and broke my wheel.. i figure thats where i bent something
