I just bougt a set of 711's and they are wild compared to those goodyears that come stock!! 712's just have a better speed rating, but the 711's work great if you stll have your govrnor at 118, I tink the tire are good up to 130, whle the 712' are z ratd.

711s are H rated, last longer, and have more of a BFGoodrich/Dunlop Sp8000 style tread. I like the way they look better personally and thats what Im buying for my car soon

The 712s are the newer tire and are available in P255/50... 711s are P245 only.

I have the 711's (for the rear only right now) bought and at the house back home. They should go on this weekend. I'm looking forward to it. Finally better tires! :D

i have the 712's but might be selling mine to go bigger. they have 3,000 miles on them. I am thinking about 265/35/18 712's.

Update... i now have the 711's on! I like them a lot so far. Having four new tires gives such a noticable difference.

Thats great! Let us all know how quickly they wear, do at the dragstrip, in the rain, snow, whatever you encounter :D Give us a report around 5,000 miles or so if you can please?

No problem... its supposed to snow again tomorrow :(
so i'll know pretty quickly about snow traction. Maybe i'll just stay home. :D

i have the 712's and I can tell you that they are just incredible tires for dry and in the rain. as far as snow. if you can find a tire that helps my camaro go in the snow, please tell me. unless you have the balls to use chains, there isn't a tire thats good for any f-body in the snow.

i have 712s and they do not hold for sh*t, wet traction is better then stock but dry... i spin them all day long, i downshift into first and i get sideways on dry concrete

I have the 712's also and the only way to get traction at the track is to spin them as much as you can to get them hot and then they still don't grip real good. I wouldnt recomend them to any one.

Blizzaks are decent, as are some other genuine snow tires, labeled as such (I think it's a snowflake or a mountain). Get all 4 unless you don't intend to turn or stop. :D

Do the 711's suffer from the same traction problems that the 712's do?

I get pretty decent traction from the 712's

but they wear WAY too fast for me.

I'm getting great traction with my 711's. maybe that's bc I had thoughs crappy pepboys Futura gtx tires. there wear number was 400, but they didn't have much tread to begin with. I cut the life of the tires down by half because I was spining all the time. At the end they were slicks. I was trying to get my moneys worth at 100 bucks a tire. Thank god for tire rack!
