• New Legs

Look what the FedEx man delivered today. New legs for my tired old 'bird! (okay, well not exactly new legs, but nearly new)

That's SLP (Eibach) Level 1 progressive lowering springs and KYB AGX adjustable shocks/struts, ready to mount up!

Won't have time to install this weekend with SLP Day on Sat, but probably next weekend they'll be going on. I've measured from the ground to bottom of the fender lip as it is now (27.25"F / 28" R) and will post back with new height once they're on. SLP says 1" drop, of course it's not going to be quite that much in the front because of the small weight difference, but we'll see how close it is.

$200 shipped for the whole lot! Gotta love eBay.

You just gotta keep watching and do your searches carefully, not all sellers title their auctions with key words like they should.

        http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WDVW

That's my set. I missed the auction but emailed the guy afterwards and worked out a deal. $50 for shipping seems high but I wasn't about to argue and have him relist them, they could easily have gone higher. Also, he says 48k miles in the auction, that's what's on the springs only. The KYB's have less than 10k.

Haha, yeah the rears nearly fall out, but I don't think I want to drive the car with sloppy front and tight rear. Bad enough I went to the 19mm rear bar and poly endlinks without touching the front.

I'll just wait until I can get access to air tools and an extra set of hands. I may have a 98+ front brake conversion to do at the same time too. ;)

Rears took only 20 min to do. Fronts were more involved. Having to pull the master cylinder to get to the bolts and getting the shock/spring in there was kinda tight. Definitely helps to have the endlinks off to get more drop. I replaced those with poly links at the same time.

Rear came down a full inch, front only dropped 1/4" though. These are springs off a 96 SS. Went from 27 1/4" F / 28" R (ground to fender) to 27" even all around. KYB's are set on 3 F and 5 R. Wow, great handling, feels like a new car!

                        Lol, yeah knees too.

I'm really impressed with this suspension, especially being slightly used. I've never been in an SS or WS6 but these springs are great, so much better than the stock suspension. Any stiffer or lower drop and I think it would be too uncomfortable for the rural roads around here.

I know many people go with Bilsteins but I'm glad these KYB's are adjustable. There's a very noticible difference going even just 2 clicks. I had them on 5F/4R initially and the front was just too, too stiff. Changed to 3F/5R and balanced out very nicely. If I had been stuck with that initial feel I would have been disappointed.

If you know what you're doing you could do the front and back in 2 hours....rear shouldnt take more than 20-30minutes if you put a little hussle in your step.

You know it...little over 7 minutes. I would have tried beating it when I did mine, but I was doing shocks too...so I passed on trying to break any records.
