• suspension inquries..

Ok...my suspension is stock and fried. It pops, squeeks, and is loose. When I get out of it it makes the sound that a 350lb man would make getting out...I'm a whopping 140lbs. I wanna do a complete kit, something nice BUT not overdone for a daily driver. I was leaning toward the SLP level 1. Anyone...

hey hey hey, when I was 330, mine didn't pop, squeak, or anything. lol, but yeah, 1LE swaybars, spohn or G2 lca's, bmr or spohn phr, and global west trac-link(torque arm). do u want ride height/quality adjustability, or what? do u wanna lower it? u will want to do stb and sfc's first since a suspension needs a good solid chassis to work against.

I got the hotchkis kit, it lowers it like an inch, and looks pretty darn good...I am 35,000 miles with it and no problems so far ;)

WHOA, hold on just a sec...
If there's one thing I've learned about suspension it's that you can't just throw parts on and see what happens. First off, do lots of research on how different components of your suspension work. Also, check out some of the LS1/LT1 suspension tech forums (www.ls1.com, www.ls1tech.com). Then, once you've attained a basic knowledge of how your suspension works, try to figure out why it makes so much noise and what's wrong with it. IMO, the ideal first mod is shocks, but if you really want expert advice consult Sam Strano. He is THE guru of f-body suspension. He has a forum on www.stranoparts.com. Good luck!

You likely just need a new set of good shocks and some new non squeeky bushings You need to isolate each issue and fix each one by one... shouldn't be much

I’m new. I actually don’t own a Camaro or firebird. I do have a 2000 Camaro 3.8 fly by throttle and 4l60e. This is installed in a 1980 Triumph TR7...
