Hey everyone, Im new around here. I just bought my 2002 Camaro V6 and am looking around for some ideas of what to do with it. I am a previous J-body owner, and I dropped that car 2", when I returned the car to stock form, the drop had ruined my struts. Will lowering a Camaro lead to the same problem, or are the stock struts/shocks strong enough to handle the drop? Also, I have heard some dissention about what's the best springs to buy, I hear alot about Eibach's being the best, but is there anything better for our cars? And where can I find the best prices on springs? Thanks alot!

Yes if you lower your camaro it will ruin the stock shocks. If you want to lower then basically read the thread below and that should give you some ideas.

When doing lowering springs, it is best to get a matched set of shocks along with them as well as a adj. rear panhard rod. The adj. panhard rod will allow you to recenter the rear axle from when it was uncentered by the lowering springs. This will allow you to have a good handling car that doesn't pull to one side when accelerating or has too much lean when cornering. Also is a must when wanting to put wider than stock rear wheels on the car.

Will Bilsteins support a 1"-1.5" drop, or are they direct OEM replacements, that will wear out over time like the stock shocks? If they cannot be used w/ a drop what do you guys recommend? Thanks.

Useless mod unless you have a real problem. The axle is never centered, and lowering only moves the axle by 1/4". Replace the PHR bushings from ES, or get a 1LE.

Robert - I liked this answer of yours better:

"the rear axle looks to one side"

As you know, I think anyone whose rear axle is _visibly_ misaligned could use one. Calipers are not necessary, IMHO.
