  • v8 springs on a v6?

OK I keep checking ebay for some lowering springs for our V6's. Not too many choices. But there are quite a few for V8's. I know the front springs for them will be stiffer and maybe sit a little higher but I would like some confirmation on this before I make an uninformed decision. Also, what would be the cheapest way to get a lowering kit for our cars?

Say you put 300lb/in springs on the front.

On a V8 that weighs 3400lbs the springs are supposed to give a 1" drop.

On a V6 that weighs 3300lbs you've got a 100lb difference, nearly all of which is over the front wheels.

So at 300lb/in rate and being 100lb lighter the front is only going to drop .66" instead of the full 1".

This is all assuming of course the stock springs are still setting at factory height and haven't sagged. But this would affect the amount of drop on any new spring.
