  • Drag Radial question

How will drag radials hold up on a semi daily driver car? Semi daily meaning I won't drive the my car in the rain or any other bad weather on purpose. But how will tread and everything hold up driving on normal roads? Also how would wet traction be affected if I had to drive in poor weather????

its nearly impossible for me to do over 55-60 on the interstate with my drag radials. Had them on the rears for about 8k now. Its not that from a stop and starting is bad traction, it HYDROPLANES like a *****. Very scary. The *** end also fishtails more obviously. I've had to learn how to drive it completely different in the rain now. But it was all expected.

The BFG 255/50's are holding up surprisingly better than I expected. I'm saving for a completely new set of street tires though. I don't like driving daily in these.

I hear the nitto DR's are much better for daily driving than the BFG's.

Like he said...there good for in town but not recommended on the highway and in poor weather, don't even go out! Its not worth it! After a year of daily driving they wear pretty quick. I only put mine for the track and switch them when I get home.

It would be a waste of rubber to roll on them all the time.

nitto 555r for more daily driving. I cut 1.9 60's with them. They dont last as long on the street full time but thats to be expected. Also the are pretty bad in the rain after they get some wear on them. Just be careful.

What he said. Nittos are fine on the street, just have to be careful in the rain.
