  • In what order should I upgrade my suspension?

I'm confused on what I should do to upgrade my suspension. I know about everything to get.
    lowering springs
    shocks
    lower control arms
    lower control arm relocation brackets
    sway bars
    subframe connectors
    panhard rod
    strut tower brace
and maybe one or two other things.

But when you plan to put a part or two on at a time, what should be the first things?

I figure I should get sway bars and strut tower brace first, is this ok? or should I get my sway bars and my springs&shocks installed at the same time?

I like doing chassis mods first. It gives the existing suspension a better base to work against, as well as sets you up better for future mods. SFC's and STB are the 2 main things. aa roll bar isn't necesssary unless you wanna go all out. next, I'd upgrade the rear suspension w/ everything but springs/shocks. this way cornering and launches will be solid. next, I'd do complete front ssuspension along w/ springs/shocks because it's cheaper and saves time to do it all at once. last, I'd match swaybars to the spring/shock package to tune the handling to exactly what you want. This iss just my opinion tho.

What are you going for most? looks, handling or traction cause that will say what needs to be done when.

If your going for looks then drop it.

If your going for handling in the turns I would do

      STB
      Sway bars
      Shocks
      Drop
      Sub frame connectors
      LCS's
      Panhard

If you want traction at the strip I would do
      DO NOT DROP
      Lca's and relo brakets
      TQ arm
      Shocks
      sub frame
      Panhard
      STB
Bigger rear sway bar With poly bushings

      etc etc..

I'm going for traction and handling. Looks come along with it to me.

an aftermarket torque arm is generally thought of as more of a handling modification or one of the latter mods for traction

for traction a large rear sway bar is not the best way to go, an airbag for the right rear spring will do much more

the midwest's national F-stock autoxing champ did not have a STB, and the people i know that have them did not notice much of an improvement

also if you are looking for traction take the front sway bar off, however if you want to be able to turn leave it on... you cant have the best of both worlds
