I noticed this problem about two weeks ago. I had the rear drums machined and new shoes put on a month ago with no probs then one day noticed when I step on and release the brake when coming to a stop it makes a squeek noise. It doesn't drag...just makes the noise for a second.
The second thing I noticed is when I pull into the garage, I hear a ticking noise that sounds like it varies with the rotation of the wheel. When I pull in at 5 mph it is faster than when I come to a stop when the noise also slows down. Sounds almost like Wheel Of Fortune when the wheels slows down. This noise doesn't happen when the car is cold and happens with the brake not applied. I hear this noise in my friend's Saturn as well that has rear drums.
Maybe it is related to the rear brake job...I didn't have these noises before I had them done. I just had the fronts done the other day and the noise is still there so it isnt the front.
