Have any of yall strengthened the stock LCA's???

I was looking at my LCA's the other day, and i was wondering, why dont yall just strengthen them?? you could weld a strip of steel across the bottom and have a "halfass" boxed LCA that would probably work just as good as aftermarket along w/some polyurethane bushings???

And then they would be just as lousy as the aftermarket junk. Read the Technical Database about suspension binding.

That's exactly what the SLP LCAs and Panhard rod are. I believe the 1LE is also the same?

SLP sells 'reinforced' LCA's & Panhard rods, but they also come w/poly bushings. The 1LE stuff is not boxed, the only real changes from stock being better bushings & possibly heavier-duty stamped-steel construction.

By welding on a piece on top of the stock LCAs, you minimize the deflection of the rear suspension. It's designed to allow flex from left to right. Boxing it in will result in minimal deflection. Thats bad. You're better off getting the 1LE's.
