Does anyone know what is the lightest 245/50/16 tire that is available for everyday use? So far the lightest I could find was toyo proxes. They weight 23lbs according to the toyo web-page. Has anyone found anything lighter?

Wonder if that can really be done? Good weight reduction losing the heavy air.

Since tire pressure is measured in a weight ratio, PSI (pounds per square inch), wouldn't you just have to add more of a lighter gas, as opposed to a heavier mixture like air? I'm probably wrong, I flunked college chemistry once ...
Now if you put a lot of hydrogen in there, that would make for one nasty burnout if you got your tires hot enough!!! Uhh yeah... I asked what TIRE is the lightest... not air. DUH! I tried calling tire rack, and other such places. So far it seems the toyo is the lightest tire. Most of the others weight 25-28+ lbs. Toyo was 23.
Sooo, you can save 20lbs or so just by using a different brand of tire. :D Just an idea. If anyone knows of lighter TIRE's please post. heh heh. Thanks,
JAM
02 Firebird GT
