• What type of front/rear sway bars should I be looking for?

Anybody have sway bars installed? and where and what brand did you go with?

I just want to finish off my suspension with some swaybars for a nice tight, no bodyroll suspension.
need to be able to keep up in the corners at BIR (Brainerd International Raceway).

thx.

I don't have mine yet but I will soon so I've been doing alot of reading about them. Seems the most common opinion is go with the 32/21 combo from 1LE. I've driven V6 Fbodys with the 1LEs and they do make a nice difference in stiffening up the ride. Don't bother with BMR or Hotchkis, seems its just extra money spent for basically the same thing (unless you require pretty red ones).

Well Im not sure what suspension modifications you have and what kind of course BIR is, (twisty, speedwise, etc) but I would probably start with just a 32mm up front, 19mm in the rear, and go from there.

I like my 32/21 but I'm not roadracing. Many people prefer the 32 up front as the speeds increase (LS1 owners).

Too much debate for me to just tell you "get this"

but here are the possible sizes:
Front:
28/30/32/35
Rear:
15/17/19/21/25

those are all in mm and as you can see you can *tune* the suspension to do what you need.

My suggestion? Go out and get a good alignment by someone willing to align your car to your spec. Start with something like
+ 4.5 caster both sides, -0.5deg Camber, and 0 toe.

That will make a noticeable difference and will cost you less than swaybars for the time being

If you're running stock bars, a 32/19mm or 32/21 setup won't be a bad consideration... for general open tracking. You might find the 21 is too much, it depends on how you drive. ;)

BIR is a road corse with 10 turns (2 S turns and 2 that are sharper than 90*), 2 straightaways, front straight i can get about 115 mph in my car, but banking i want some nice sway bars for turning at considerable speeds, gotta stick up with the V8's in the corners or i have no chance anywhere for they cruise by on straightaways.

I want a good stiff suspension, but yet i want to be able to use as a somewhat daily driver (summer months only)

so is 32/21 probably the best bet?

thx.

ive ridden in a car with Suspension Techniques sway bars (35mm front , 25mm rear) and i must say that had to have been the least body roll i have ever experienced.. 90* turns at 50MPH and the body didnt move a damn bit

the guy that owned the car was a hardcore autoXer, and he used the car as a daily driver also

The ST stuff (35 front) is great for autocross, where there's lots of rapid left-right transitions. For road racing, I'd say 32, and you can get the 1LE stuff pretty cheap.
