• can i go 285/45/18?

i am currently running 265/35/18s on my lowered 01 bird. I am curious as to how high i could go without rubbing... roads are pretty good around here but I want to fill the fender well with a little more rubber, the ride has gotten a little rough so the more rubber the better :)thanks guys

Possibly, but you know it will throw off your speedo about 3-4mph and your odometer as well right?

yup, dont mind that, lol i didnt readjust my odometer last time i changed my tires so im going to compensate for the increased miles i got by getting larger tires but mainly because the tires look stretched over the rims and its ugly. i want the lip... the rims at 9.5 inches wide and 275s i think would fit perfect. but im going to try and find the biggest over that size that i can the cheapest.. do you guys recomend getting tires from tirerack? or from the local place that does punctures n **** for free? i duno if the free rotation is really worth it. i mean, i could just invest in some more jack stands and do it myself... what do you think? i cant dish out another 900 in tires... goood lord...

Doesn't say on your site, are your wheels 18x9.5?

Like Wolf said, 275/40R18 is a common size due to the 'vettes using them, many tire choices available.

Ive got 285/30/18 on the same rims you have. My cars also lowered, i wouldnt see 45's rubbing personally.

I was running 275/40/18 on the 18's and 285/40/17 on the ss rims. Nothing rubbed with a 2'' drop. You will be fine.
