I guess its a color coating on the rotors. I'm looking at KVR slotted rotors from fast toys, and they sell optional Cadmium Coating. Obviously your rotors are going to get extremely hot, and with wear and friction wouldn't a coating wear off?

The idea is to prevent rust on the areas not touched by the pads. Wouldn't be worth it to me (who will notice except you?).2000 Firebird convert, chameleon/tan, M5, Y87, TCS, BMR tower brace and panhard, KBDD sfcs, 245/50-16 GSCs

Hi Dominic,
Thanks for your inquiry. The cad coating is purely cosmetic. It will wear off where the pads contact the rotors but it keeps the hub, holes and edges looking nice for a long time.
Cross drilled rotors do not cut down on pad life like slotted rotors do. They also run much cooler.
The rotors are stock sized replacements.
We have a GP running right now which offers the KVR rotors at a very good price. Check out camaroz28.com or ls1.com for details and pricing.
Thanks!
