I need new front and rear shocks but want to keep the stock ride height. Which would be the best to go with?

    Thanks everyone

How much are you willing to spend?
What are you looking for the shocks to do (ex. just daily driving, help with cornering, autocrossing, dragracing, etc?)

Im looking for the shocks to stiffen my ride along with improved cornering and help to keep rear tires on the ground. Im not looking to spend a fortune maybe 200 or so

You might be best off with going with Bilstein HD's then. They're around 300, but you won't be disappointed. Definitely better then the stock shocks and help with cornering performance.

I was looking at getting Bilstein HD's but was wondering about them changing ride height. I know when I put new shocks in my 93 S-10 it raised it about 3/4 of and inch since the new shocks were nitrogen charged (like the old ones were at one point in time). Whom here has installed new shocks and have you niticed a change in ride height?

Go with the Bilsteins. A little more than you wanted to spend but you will love them.

Shouldn't change the height...if it did, I didn't notice it.

I'm assuming your talking about wheel hop...that is attributed to the Lower Control Arms not the shocks....and $200 isn't much for shocks....you might be able to get some off ebay for around that price.

They don't change the ride height at all.

Thanks for all the input. I'll be going with the Bilstein's. By getting new shocks will i also need to get new springs?

Nope, you won't need to. If you plan on replacing them soon though, it'll be cheaper to install all at once. But if you're planning on sticking with the stockers for a while, you're fine with just replacing the shocks.

Installing the front shocks will be fun for you :D . If you do it yourself make sure you get someone to let you borrow a spring compressor.

Seriously dude, you may spend only 200 on the shocks, but if you're not installing them yourself, look for at least that over again in install costs.

I bought HALs for the front and CE Drags out back, about $400 out the door. Did it all myself.

If you are serious about saving money, then you should consider SLP T/O parts. I think you can get All 4 springs and shocks for about $100. and other suspension product at a decent price so check them out @www.SLPonline.com
                            Good luck!
