  • Horrible road vibration

I got new wheels 18x8 Boyd Coddington Billet Timeless 5s wheels, the tires were bald in back and I put them on with a ratchet but I finally got new tires today had them mounted balanced and put on right. But I still have the horrible vibration I attributed to me not tightening the rims down all the way. It’s worse then before at anything over 40 you really notice it by the 70’s my teeth are chattering and my vision is slightly blurred from the motion. I can also see my hood bouncing up and down ¼”. What could this be? It was riding fine with the stockers, it’s not the roads I’ve rode on freshly paved baby bottom smooth roads and its still there. One of the rims has a small dent in it the guy said it didn’t affect drivability and it seems like this is just too much for one rim with minor damage. What could this be?

    That's the damaged rim.

Don't know can you put weights on the inside of the rim, like covered by the tire. If not they just ripped off the old weights. Woulden't suprise me in the least it's a shop in Miami.

for specialty wheels they have stick on weights. They can static ballence the tire and only put them on the inside of the rim. Look and see. each "square" is a 1/4 ounce. see how many there are (if any)

It's a long drive for me I don't think I'm even going to bother. I had to b!tch and complain just to get the tires they told me that day they had. When I drove there a 75 miles drive from my home, 40 or so from where I go to school they said they only had 2 tires even though I repeatedly told them I needed 4 and was quoted a price for 4. He tried to get me to buy 2 used, 2 new but after some b!tching he managed to "find" the other 2. To be honest when they rolled the car out I made sure they weren't my old wheels and left as fast as I could I really think I'm going to avoid ever doing Business in Miami again. Everytime I go there I have to deal with these 2 bit hustlers.
