I have some 17" rims on my car right now. All chromed out, they dont look light but I dont have a weight measurement for them. Should I try to get some low pro street et's for them and go that route or should I try to pick up somethin a little smaller and lighter. I think its a part of my problem with my 60's and overall sucky times.

You want taller rubber when drag racing to get tire flex on take off. This will prevent you from losing traction. Low pros to allow for that at all. Going with 15's might even be better.1995 Firebird 3.8 A4, 140,000 miles and going strong
Basically Stock, college=poor
Junior Mechanical Engineering Student: Milwaukee School of Engineering; Cpl, MN Army National Guard...just got promoted :)

The cheapest route would be to get two salad shooters from SLP, get some drag tires to put on them, and mount them on the back for extra traction at the strip.
If you got the cash, a set lightweight 15" Weld pro-star/drag lite wheels with skinnies up front would give you the best times, but streetability (is that a word?) would suffer.16 years old with no car and big dreams...

sweet ill have to go do that then, the SLP thing sounds like the route I want to go. This car is my daily driver so I have to keep it as streetable as possible. But I cant deal with 2.3-2.4 60's and 3:42's thats just rediculous1998 Firebird 3.8, A4
Mods: Alum Ds, Yank TC 2800 stall, Rksport lid, FTRA, SLP air temp sensor, K&N, Flowmaster catback 2.5\" w/cutout, 3:42 gears w/LSD
Best E/T: 15.6 @ 86 mph (w/o gears / lsd or verter)
Best 60: 2.234
www.teamfoxfire.iwarp.com -- club site
To come?: l67 piston package hardened, turbo? spray? low 12\'s? well see
