• Floaty-bouncing problems with F-X5 Shcoks

I have Rksport F-X5 adjustable shocks and H&R 2" lowering springs. The ride is very rough, which is to be expected, and it handles 100 times better than stock at low speeds or on smooth roads, but it is actually way less stable at high speeds if there is any kind of bump in the road. If I hit any bump while going highway speeds, my car bounces up and down like it has loose buick suspension or something. If I'm going 70 and hit a little raise in the road, my car feels dangerous. I don't know whats going on, but I dont like it one bit. I think it may be the air adjustable F-X5 shocks arent very adaptive to different surfaces. Maybe traditional gas shocks would be better??? Has anyone else experienced this problem or have any idea what it could be.

Too much compression damping is causing the rougha$$ ride

Too little rebound damping is causing the nasty floating feeling

The two are barely related when it comes to shock valving and this is why the FX-5s are not really great shocks, sorry to say. This is why most people go with Bilstein revalves (courtesy Sam Strano). You can have great handling and a BETTER than stock ride if you valve the shocks right and run soft enough springs

I figured they were crappy shocks. What do you think about the hal adjustable shocks?

HALs are nice, but some folks (Sam, afaik) still consider them crap. What can you do, he's the man. Get Konis or Bilstein revalves ... if you're racing. If you're not, just, well ... switch back to stock?
