  • third gen and 93-97 rotors?

Im looking for rotors on ebay. This site says their rotors are for 82-97 which makes me a bit nervous. I didnt think the rotors were compatible with third gens. I dont want to end up with rotors that dont fit my car. Are thrid gen rotors the same as 93-97's?

I like these rotors because I can get them in slotted only.

    82-92 have a different replacement part # 141233 than a 93-97 part # 141868.

Most likely they mean they stock both parts to fit either year range.

Those black rotors are cool! Along with a black'ed-out car (paintjob, rims, headlights, tailights, tinted windows, etc.) they would look BADA$$!!!

3rd Gen are COMPLETELY different to 4th Gen.

3rd Gen Rotors have the wheel studs mounted to them for a start, whereas 4th gen rotors don't - the studs are on the hub.

3rd Gen rotors are secured to the hub with a bearing and Nut setup, whereas 4th gen rotors are held in place by the wheel. (clamped between wheel and hub)

The ONLY way you will get 4th Gen Rotors to fit, would be by swapping out the whole hub assembly.

That black coating will wear off after about 30 miles from where the pad touches teh rotor. the coating itself may last about 1000 miles on parts that arent touched.

i have the silver coating. i regret getting it on my KVR rotors, cause it was a waste of $$$
