    Sure. Some folks like to buy bolt on bars and then weld them on after bolting them up for alignment.

    Most important part: Car must be resting normall on all 4 wheels while the bars are welded on. Do NOT lift the car up with wheels hanging and expect to do anything other than force the car to stay locked in a strange posture.

      I'd vote for shocks/springs first. Better handling and looks.

      Speaking of suspension, anybody use Competition Engineering stuff? Some of the prices for their stuff at Advance are pretty decent

        Zahn, i figured whats the point of selling my V6 and getting a V8? So i can go insanely faster once i mod the crap out of it?

        You can only use so much power on the street, and if a V6 can get my in trouble (you know about my ticket on Earl Street lol), the V8 can get me in more.

        Plus, i know i have a good car, reliable, and extremely well maintained. Why buy a new lottery ticket if you have a winning one?

        Summer will bring mods to my car. What exactly? Definately suspension stuff, and some sort of major power adder (cam or nitrous), but either way, as of now, im keepin it.

            I had mine welded in a few years ago at a local Midas. There is a small dip at the entrance to the parking lot and when I pulled out, I could notice less flex right off the bat. They will definitely help a lot.

              I have SLP bolt on's. I put locktite on the threads and they have been on for the past 2 years. No issues, easy to install, and no loose bolts or rounded holes. It made the car alot stiffer for sure! You really notice it when cornering hard, and going over nasty *** r.r. tracks. LOL

                from what i have seen and heard do not get bolt ons.
                over time, the bolts weaken and loosen due to constant stress, rust, and normall wear and tear. the subframe connectors will eventually loosen and become virtually useless. as far as longevity goes, weld on is the only way to go

                  Bolt-on's and welded both have their pro's and cons.

                  Welded: Will probably last the lifetime of the car, as long as you don't nail a heavy curb (like me) and bent the crap outta them. Then you (I) have to cut them off and weld new ones on. They are cheaper because you have to find someone who knows what they are doing to zap them on for you, and probably will cost an average of $50-$100 to install.

                  Bolted: Easy to replace, but doesn't really hold as well as the welded. If the bolts are torqued down properly and a good locktite is used, then you should not need to worry about them coming loose. More expensive because Joe-Shmoe can put them on without dad helping.&gt; ie: they can be installed by those without much experience. They can easily be replaced, and you don't need to have the car sitting perfectly level and planted on all 4 wheels when installing. They can be installed with loose bolts, sit the car back on the ground, then tighten to specs.

                    I had mine welded on for like $100. exit ramps are more fun now. dont have to slow down as much to take a corner. its just for the fun factor on my car. it ot rid of a few rattles that my interior had. I thought it was coincedence but it might not be now since I see they've stopped leaks. stiffer chassis can never be a bad idea with our heavy cars.

                      I had mine installed not to long ago and they have made a difference in the overall handling when I exit off ramps and sharp turns. I have t-tops and before I got the BM&R tubular sub frame connectors my car was flexing like hulk hogan at wrestlemainia

                          The bolt-on triangle sfc's look to be the best for overall support, but I would weld them in once I got them bolted up...if I bought them.

                            I would go with the ones from Umiperformance. They are the exact same as BMR and a better price. I would not go with bolt on SFCs as there is incorrect weight transfer (transfers about 75% to the bolt holes and 25% to the actual SFCs). I plan on ordering the bars from Umi when I finish my sway bars.

                              Anyone know about the clearance of different brands? My car is pretty low and I'm just wondering if there's some sfc's that don't stick out as much as others etc.

                                I have SLP subframes sitting in my room waiting to be welded on. Dunno when that's gonna be though...
