  • Paging V6 Bob or anyone else w/ SFC's

Was wondering what kind of difference i'll notice if i put some Kenny Brown Double Diamond SFC's on my vert? It's 4 yrs. old now, so i'm noticing alot more body flexing especially when turning @ high speeds. Was planning on doing a rear axle swap, but i'm thinking maybe i'll do the sfc's first. Any opinions welcome.

Yes, you should definitely get it, especially if it's a convertible. That should've been the first thing you get. My car feels way more solid than my coworkers 95 t-topped Z28. You WILL FEEL it. Dunno 'bout the DD SFCs though, because they can get in the way of the exhaust if you need to change it.

I noticed a big difference in front end solidity ("cowl shake") and I think you would also. If you want to save some bucks, I think other sfcs would have pretty good results also. You do need to get ones specifically for converts.

I think installation is at least as important as what you get. This is a job for a pro. Anybody welding on your car should be skilled, and the car needs to be on a 4-wheel lift, not a chassis lift. The welds need to be coated to avoid rust. 3M weld-thru coating may be a good idea, also. I found a performance oriented muffler shop with a guy who had done sfcs before.

I installed them on my coupe (I got a good deal on my Hotchkis set). And I probably shouldn't of. I really didn't notice much, and if I ever get comptetive in AutoX - they'll have to bump me to SM which would blow. Oh well.
