285 front, maybe. 335 is the widest rear tire you could fit. not needed for traction, though, just for looks.2001 Arctic White Firebird
T-Tops, 3.42 rear gear stock
Mods:K&N Air Filter,Whisper Air Induction Lid, maf screen removed, raised air box, Kumho Ecsta 712 255-50-ZR16 tires, BMR stb
Mods not installed yet: FTRA, SLP Lsd/Differential cover
Near Future Mods: HPP3, GMMG 3\" Exhaust , 1LE Swaybars, Transgo Shift Kit, MSD-DIS-4 w/ Accel Coil-Packs, Turquoise Blue Neon Underbody Kit, BMR Adj. back when i got my car i almost bought some 18" fittipaldi tubolares with 295 in the front and 335 in the back from a guy with a Z... i'm glad i didn't cuz the car would car would have been a slug!! those are the widest i've seen on an f-body. think he had to massage the wheel well a little bit to fit those 295s up front. my 275s barely fit up front as it is!!

275 is the most recommended for the front. Don't get any bigger on the rear cause you can't rotate them. With Z rated tires, you need to rotate. I see corvette owners *****in all the time cause the can't rotate and the tires wear out quick. But a 275/40ZR17 fits like a dream and looks good too. I give them and a marshmallow man for good measure! .1997 Chevrolet Camaro v6 - 13.8@104MPH

No there talking about 17" & 18" wheels. On the stock 16x8 wheel 255 is probably the largest you can fit on there. I personally think 245 is the perfect size but that's JMO.2002 Electron Blue Corvette Coupe
13.083@108.23

2002 Metallic Red Grandprix GTP SOLD
14.49@94.42 (Bone stock)

2002 Black Convertible Camaro Z28
times comming real soon!

hey man! 245/35/17 Yokohama a520's are just as wide as 275/40/17, actually theya are almost as wide. They are way lower profile and about 1cm not as wide. They are a sweet looking tire.
