ok I had 235/55/16 Goodyear Eagle GA's on it...stock tires...they were pretty good, then I decided to go for the wider tire so I got a 245/50/16 BF Goodrich T/A its got like a 108 MPH speed rating, compared to 118 on the Eagles...now tonight i was in a situation where my tires were very important....wall, or no wall...luckily my brakes kinda worked and no wall....ok so bottom line is these tires suck...everyone says they have to be feather or broken in...I got 1000 miles on em + burnouts...and they wont grip, and! they start shakin over 80 MPh....please what do you run that lasts and not that expensive 120$ or somethin...my friend runs Cooper Cobras, are they anygood??

i have cooper cobras.. i like the tires.. they are big though. but i side step all the time (burn out) and i still cant get them to go bald. as for traction issues.. when i go hard off the line, they make my rear end bounce, as if they dont want to break loose. i like them96 Camaro M5. go to www.tirerack.com and pay attention to user ratings in dry and wet on ultra high perf or max perf tires. if you want traction, you need sticky tires. that means they will wear quicker too, but thats the price you pay. GA's definitely do not qualify. I had them on my 99 fbird, and have them on my GTP. i have a set of shaved michelin pilot sx mxx 3's i bought last yr to sell if you are interested, that are currently on 16 x 8 rims. i paid 840 + shaving, will sell for 400 + shipping if needed, all 4, tires only. check out their wet/dry traction ratings. i moved to w2w racing, so i'm running slicks this yr instead of street tires.

I gotta tell you, I bought some Continental ContiSport Contacts and I love 'em. If I brake traction in a turn, and I have to really try with these tires, the second I ask that rear end to fall back in line POOOF it does. I've had friends that swear by Nitto, Toyo, etc. But if these tires I have are good enough to be standard issue for the Porsche 911, then they're good enough for my baby.

A good # of people seem to love the kumho estca 712's. plus their only like $90. I think @ tirerack.
I'm personal partial to my bridgestones. Excellent handling in the dry & wet. I plan to upgrade on my next set to potenza 950's. They have even higher dry, wet, & speed ratings. Except there $120 a pop.
Or you can't get some really low mileage goodyear GSC's from slp basically the stock z28 tires that have been replaced by 17's. Those are only $90 each.
Or you can just complain to bfgoodrich & demand your money back for some sucky tires.<a href=\"http://groups.msn.com/WhoisNightRider/bluethunder.msnw\" target=\"_blank\">2002 Electron Blue Corvette Coupe</a><br /><i>13.083@108.23</i><br /><br /><a href=\"http://groups.msn.com/WhoisNightRider/redfire.msnw\" target=\"_blank\">2002 Metallic Red Grandprix GTP</a> <b>SOLD</b><br /><i>14.49@94.42 (Bone stock)</i><br /><br />2002 Black Convertible Camaro Z28<br /><i>times comming real soon!</i>

ok, I went back to Tire Kingdom, they gave me my money back for the tires, and I got some BFGoodrich Radial T/A KDWS its a Z rated tire and they price match from tirerack.com , which I new about already :D thx anyways..got those tires on there and I love them they have a 400 Tread wera rating on tirerack, its an all season tire..took em up to 120 no probs at all.....oh btw the reason the tires sucked so bad cause the speed rating wasnt high enough...I found out that when you get a wider tire you have to get a stiffer side wall which means higher speed rating, I wouldve been fine with an H rating, but I figured what the hell lets go all the way :D :D so I like those tires give em a try ;)

Glad you like your new ones. I love my Bridgestone Potenza RE950s. I had Cooper Cobras on before and liked those as well, but they can't touch the Potenzas.
Upside for the Coopers: $90/each as opposed to the Potenza's $140/ea (Tire Kingdom beats any price ;) ).www.RedLineVSix.com || 1996 Camaro, 15.159@92.5mph

hey man, well i put 245/35/17 Yokoham A520 on my new rims and wow, did they surprise me. They are very sticky. They also have a awsome tread look. Check them out at Tiretrends.com, go to their online catalog and look under yokohama, then click on the A520's itll give you a look at a wider tire. They are awsome. Then at the top right click on the US flag for US prices. They are pretty cheap for you guys in the states, mine were regularly $325 each but i chewed them down to $290. Good Luck and let me know what you go with. :D :cool:99 Firebird Vert, Pewter Metalic<br />Fast Toys Ram Air<br />Jet Stage 2 Chip<br />17x8 Mille Miglia Emotion II Plus\'<br />wrapped in 245/35/17 Yokohama A520<br />Rhino Perf. Z rated tires are generally the best upgrade, but that's really all i know about tires. Except they need to be Nitto's.

A520's are an awesome tire. Ihad some on an Isuzu Ext. Cab i used to have...they stick like crazy!!! One caveat of theirs is treadlife...it isn't much. If you get 20k out of them you are doing good. Definately one of the best handling tires out there.97 Silver Bird<br />3.8 M5 Bone Stock Engine<br />15.528 @ 88.96 bone stock<br /><a href=\"http://www.fbodyenhancements.com/\" target=\"_blank\">www.fbodyenhancements.com/</a>
