Why so narrow? I have 245/50/16s all around for like 380 bucks. It's way better than Badyear eagles and CUMHoes 7-eleven. Its like the tread pattern of Kumho (similar) but better tread life and tread longevity of a Goodyear Eagles.00\' NBM Firebird~T-5
60\': 2.29 sec.
1/4: 14.7 @ 95.5 MPH
Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for me.

I have them in 275/40-17s on my front two wheels (Nittos in back). Wet traction is very good, better than my Kumho 712s I had before. Dry grip is very similar. The do seem to be a little louder rolling down the road and follow grooves in the road more. I can't say anything about launch grip since they're on the front and they're too new for me to tell anything about treadwear.

I have a set of the AVS DB S2's and they6 are the best tires I have had to date.

ES100s are excellent tires wet/dry but not snow. I love mine to death and plan on getting another set in the future. P245/50R16 is the size you should be considering too.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

I like the treads and all, but the damn thing is noisy!! My gf had a bubble on the side walls of her KumHoes and I suggested this tire because of the kewl pattern. But now it's noisier when going down the road, especially when braking or braking into a turn, VERY noticeable. This is the only thing that bugs the crap outta me. BTW its an IS300, so if you can deal with that noise, then go get it, nice looking tire. If you get annoyed by it, skip it.1999 Pewter Camaro M5
Y87 Performance Package, Sport Appearance Package, Diamond Clears
Factory SS Hood, Free Ram Air Mod, Whisper Lid w/ K&N Air Filter
CarSound Cat 94009, B&B Tri-Flo w/ Quad Tips
BMR SFC, BMR STB, KVR Blank Rotors, Hawk HPS Pads
Black Painted Calipers w/ CAMARO Decal, 245/50 Dunlop SP Sport 5000
20% Rear 35% Side Tint, Red Reflective Inlays, Invincishield
Young girls avert their eyes, weak men tremble, Ford dealers faint.

in the 245 wide size theyre not noisy. Perhaps the IS300's narrower tire makes it sing.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

I reason I want to go with the 225/55 is because I have 245/50 now and hydroplaning on the old country roads I drive on is horrible. I was hoping a skinnier tire would help with wet driving.1993 Pontiac Firebird 3.4L V6 A4
F41 RPO suspension option
119K miles
Fastchip
K&N \"Filtercharged\"
Airbox cuttout CAI
ASP underdrive pulleys
Pacesetter Headers
Flowmaster 80 Series 2.75 cat-back
MangaFlow Hi-Flow Cat
Corvette Servo
16.4 @ 81 MPH

if you want narrower, go with the stock v6 tire size of 235/55/16, this will keep the overall tire circumfrince the same so your speedo wont be off. Also, if the tires you have now are worn out, or just not good for rain period, the new yokohamas should do you well in the size I just listed or 245/50/16.98 White T-Top Firebird
w/ the crome 5 star rims
FRA, Smoothed stock lid,
Dynomax Super Turbo Exhaust
http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=346111

I dont hydroplane on these tires, on P245s. Its not the width that makes it hydro, its the tread pattern and how well it suits the width. These tires *are* trully wonderful in the rain, best I've ever owned on an Fbody and I've had many.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

i like the es100's too, right now i have avs db's i like them, theyre very quiet, i have to buy two new tires for spring, i emailed yokohama, about it and they said basically the es100 will provide a little better grip but with more noise than the db, they are cheaper also, im still not sure which ones ill get, i need 275/40's though, and i must say i never have problems with hydro with the db, so they get a big thumbs up.later,
alan
1999 bright red v6
3800 series III
208\\210 comp cam
3000 stall edge tc

What about Yokohama AVS dB S2 215/60 on front, 235/55 Kumho ECSTA HP4 716 on back? Would that be OK? I just hate the 245s on the front now. The car is just hard to steer and follows every dip in the road. It hydroplanes all the time too.1993 Pontiac Firebird 3.4L V6 A4
F41 RPO suspension option
119K miles
Fastchip
K&N \"Filtercharged\"
Airbox cuttout CAI
ASP underdrive pulleys
Pacesetter Headers
Flowmaster 80 Series 2.75 cat-back
MangaFlow Hi-Flow Cat
Corvette Servo
16.4 @ 81 MPH
