  • (question) a flat on 17" rims

Ok, not that it matters if they are 16" 17", etc. What are the pro's and con's about plugging the hole as opposed to having it patched by removing the tire?
My rear left tire has a small leak, and I haven't identified where it's coming from yet. If it's the inflate stem, I'll take to a shop for a new replacement. Also, I really don't want to use that spray-in tire goo.

i think a patch costs like 10-15 bux right? i'd go do that, seems like a more permanent fix to me...

Don't even consider one of those ****ty plugs.
They don't last and are not RMA (Rubber Manufacturers Association) approved.

Get a patch from the inside.

the local goodyear shop will fix (remove tire from rim, patch from inside) a tire for $20. i usually already have it off the vehicle so there could be a slightly higher charge if they do the unmount/mount. if you dont konw where the leak is, they will find it.

Discount will do it for $12, the best patches you can buy... They really don't even make hardly any money off a flat repair.
