Hi everyone, I am new to the group, you people really seem to know a lot about a lot . I was reading in the modification encyclopaedia about subframe connectors. It stated that convertibles have factory connectors in them. My question is, are they good enough and how much power can I put in it without folding it in two. I plan to use the car as a daily driver but want more power and cornering ability. Hopefully I can do a lot with this car it is stock at the time and only has 20K on it so it is a clean slate to work with. Thanks for any advice.

BMR makes a convertible subframe connector and should add more rigidity to your car, as I don't know alot about the factory subframe connectors I can't be 100% sure but I would say with a reasonable amount of certainty that if you really want to put power down they are going to help you over the stock setup.

converibles have a double floor board, they do not have a real subframe connector, the way mustang verts do.

I have BMR subframe connectors on my WS6 and I like them a lot. Definitely helped to stiffen the chassis.

Converts have some additional chassis bracing, but it's nowhere near enough. They still are the most flexible f-body chassis and can use sfcs more than any other.
A quality install job is at least as important as which particular sfc you get.2000 Firebird convert, chameleon/tan, M5, Y87, TCS, BMR tower brace and panhard, KBDD sfcs, 245/50-16 GSCs
