I've heard mixed things on subframe connectors. I've heard some people who say it's their most regretted mod, and others who say they're the best thing they have, and wish they'd gotten them sooner.
So, what's everyone's opinion on them (who has them!)?? I'm thinking about getting some of BMR's, but don't wanna waste my $$...
For a convert, anyway, they're a must. Dramatically reduced front end shake over bumps. I haven't seen anyone who said they really regretted getting them.
I think of the mods I've done, the SFC has got to be the most important as it makes the car structurally stiffer and reduces squeaks and rattles. My car feels pretty damn solid with very little noise going over bumpy roads. I would say go and get them.
Absolutely no regrets. The only bad thing is you can't use the car jack to jack up the rear when u have a flat because there isn't enough room between the SFC and the pinch weld at the rear.

Who the heck would NOT enjoy a smoother ride and better handling? SFCs are a definate MUST in my book. You most likely wont agree untill you get them..my 2 pennies...

I had them (Hotchkis) welded in and didn't really notice a thing. At most, the car felt a little stiffer - but that may of been psychological. I also have a coupe, so I have a bit of rigidity to start with. So, I kind of regret it - but thats because I now autocross, and if I were to ever get competitive - I'll have to get the dang things cut off becuase they'll bump me to SM Class which is full of cars built for AutoX(right now they really don't care about them, but Im still in ESP).
If you have a coupe - spend your money elsewhere.
I know someone posted something from a book that said how SFCs were the last mod to do to your 4th Gen F-Body. Said a rollcage would be the thing to do before these.

So to change a flat tire, your only option is to put the car on a lift??? this might be a dumb question, so be easy on me guys...

naah you don't have to go that far.. you just have to find a different position to lift from.. you can put a floor jack under the rear end.. it's just that you can't use the jack that comes with the car.. the spot where it is supposed to sit is obstructed.. I'm pretty sure this is not true for the tubular bmr's though.. with boxed sfc's you can put a jack on the sfc itself just not the stock one.. a floor jack is a good investment. I have to have one because I haven't found a set of store bought ramps that will work on my car (no not even rhino ramps) so I have to put the front end up on jack stands to change the oil..

If you have T Tops or convertibale i say its a must and you will be able to tell you have them esspeiclly at first you will forget about them later on I also recommend a strut tower brace will help stiffen the front end a good deal too
I wouldnt want my car with out either one of these i think they should come with the car to be honest
I think if you got a coupe tho you dont relly need them the coups are pretty stiff to begin with I say it couldnt hurt them any but yea if you plane on autox then dont get them they put you in a class you dont wanna be in
but if you dont how is a stiffer more responsive car gonna hurt
i say if you can find a good pair for cheap if you got a coupe and got extra money it wont hurt anything
Spectacle is your cheapest bolt-on diamond, BMR or others are good for single-side. Don't get them for autocrossing unless you like being moved up 2-3 classes, which is why I don't have a set.

If you have a flat on the road, you won't even make it to the shop for that. I need to buy another jack. I had a flat last time and I tried to use the CAR jack on the rear pinch weld but it wasn't fitting onto the car jack's notch. The arm of the jack was pushing the SFC to lift it. I was afraid of it slipping out on me, so I called my friend and I used two car jacks. His has a flat spot on the top of the jack, so I used his on the SFC. When it was high enough, MY own car jack finally cleared it's "arms" and fit under the pinch weld.

RK sport tubular sub frames here.
they are great!!!
they tighten up the car a lot
who ever says they don't work are not psuhing their car to the limits.
Um, I jack the bird up on the frame or on the sub frame connector.
Missy2k, not a dumb question at all, you can jack the car up on a sub frame connector. it is welded to the frame

RK Sports subframes look alot like Global West or G2's. Do you know who makes them? They are priced only $140, while others of similar design are $200. Also any pics?
OKAY! good, because I was fearing the whole issue of having to jack my car up on the side of a road and not knowing if my car is supported well enough. Im thinking of going with Kenny Brown double diamonds but I'm not done doing my research yet....
I just got done installing my Kenny Brown ouble dimaond SFC Today and i'll say they made alotta diffrence the car seems to respond alot better through truns and such i think it was a well worth investment and i did my resarch to Missy2k and they said in the lay out for the kenny browns that you can use them to jack up your car greanted there more expensice the the reagualr single ones but i think they give you that much more not to mention the space to jack from and with me planning on adding alot more horse power in the future i wanted to make sure i had about the best i could get
